U.S. social gaming giant Zynga has brought in former EA’s former SVP of mobile publishing, Bernard Kim.

Kim has been named as the FarmVille creator’s new president of publishing, and will be responsible for, among other things, the division's networking, product management, marketing, ad monetization, and user acquisition efforts.

The move reunites Kim with recently promoted Zynga CEO, Frank Gibeau, with the pair having previously worked together at EA.

Kim spent over 15 years at the publishing powerhouse, during which he worked on a number of key EA franchises including Sim City, Star Wars, The Sims, The Simpsons, and Real Racing.

Speakng about his decision to leave the company for Zynga, Kim explained he was excited by the opportunity to build-out the studio's "proven brands."

"The company has proven brands, talented teams and the social DNA needed to deliver truly unique mobile games to players," elaborated Kim.

"From Words With Friends to FarmVille, Zynga has created franchises that have introduced more than a billion people around the world to social gaming. I’m very excited to work with Frank and the team to deliver high-quality experiences that drive deeper long-term engagement with mass market audiences."

Before he joined EA, Kim served as Disney's director of sales and channel strategy, and also led sales and retail for Disney Mobile.
