Non-profit diversity outfit Women in Games is putting together a new awards show to celebrate the best and brightest women working in the mobile games industry.

The aptly titled Women in Games Mobile Awards will showcase those standout mobile offerings created by teams featuring women game devs, and is being supported by the IMGA (International Mobile Gaming Awards)

A variety of prizes will be up for grabs on the night, including a Grand Prix award for the best mobile game made by a team featuring women game devs, and a Leadership Award that recognizes the exceptional contribution of one mobile game dev.

"We are honored to be part of the Women in Games Mobile Awards," said Maarten Noyons, CEO of International Mobile Gaming Awards.

"IMGA has always strived to promote diversity and maintain gender equality among its jury and participants. We look forward to discovering and awarding the best games produced by teams including women."

The first ever Women In Games Mobile Awards will take place during the European Women in Games Conference in London on September 6.

Those looking to submit a game will have to do so before entries close on August 20, although only games published on Android or iOS and released after May 2016 will be eligible for entry.

You can find out more about the application process over on the Women in Games website.
