The Video Game History Museum has a home. The collection of games, software, and memorabilia has been exhibiting on a traveling basis these past several years -- notably, at this year's E3 show, on the show floor -- but will now be moving into a permanent exhibition space in Frisco, Texas, in the Dallas metro area. The Dallas Morning News reports that $1 million in funding has been raised to renovate a space inside the Frisco Discovery Center by this coming April. The city has put up $800,000 with $100,000 coming from the Frisco Community Development Corporation and another $100,000 from the city's Visitors Bureau. The goal is to gather funds for an even larger space once the exhibition is established in Frisco, the paper reports, as the museum's collection is too large to show in its entirety at one time. A public hearing will be held in October regarding the finances being spent on the museum. The museum was founded by John Hardie, Sean Kelly, and Joe Santulli, who also founded the popular Classic Gaming Expo. According to its official site, the museum has over 20,000 items spanning over 25 years of history.
