Newsbrief: Middleware outfit Unity has raised $181 million in series C funding to further fuel the development and growth of virtual and augmented reality titles.

Unity is the backbone of around 90 percent of Gear VR apps, and was also used to create Niantic's hugely popular AR title, Pokémon Go

Leading investor DFJ Growth says it was attracted by Unity's position as a leading accelerator of AR and VR development, and will now take a seat on Unity's board of directors.
