Unity has officially launched the latest version of its popular game engine, Unity 2017.1.

The release marks the beginning of the Unity 2017 cycle, and is packed with a slew of features like the much talked about Cinemachine smart camera system and Timeline visual organisation tool.

Other notable additions include a Post-Processing Stack that lets users easily apply realistic filters to scenes using film industry tech, and Unity Teams, a set of features and solutions that aims to simplify the way creators work together.

A variety of further improvements have also been made to the engine's particle and animation systems, the latter of which has been completely overhauled to improve keyframing workflow.

Naturally, there's a ton of other tweaks and additions that will be of particular interest to Unity devs, so it's worth checking out the Unity blog for a comprehensive rundown.
