UK trade body UKIE has reassured local developers following the region's decision to leave the European Union.
Leave won by 52 percent to 48 percent for the Remain campaign, with an overall voting turnout of 71.8 percent -- which is the highest at a UK election since 1992.
The result had immediate repercussions, both financial and political, but UKIE says it will work hard to ensure the British games industry is sufficiently represented in the coming months.
The organization will focus on securing access to overseas talent and guaranteeing continued investment in the country's homegrown creative.
It will also be looking for assurances regarding Video Games Tax Relief and the accessibility of other funding channels.
"Although this decision and the political uncertainty it brings will have an impact on our businesses it is important to remember that we are already a globally successful sector and a leading exporter in the digital economy," said UKIE CEO, Jo Twist.
"UKIE will continue to work hard with colleagues in government and other sectors to ensure we continue to have the best possible business environment for our sector, and we will be following developments closely and advising members as they unfold."
