Ubisoft is dipping its toes into the karaoke game business with Just Sing, a game that challenges players to competitively or cooperatively sing along (or lip-sync) to known songs from artists like Queen and One Direction.

What's most interesting here is that Ubisoft is getting into a segment of the video game market that's long been dominated by franchises like Sony's SingStar and Maximum Games' Let's Sing

The design of Ubisoft's Just Sing appears to focus on communal play, as the game will encourage players to either take part in one-on-one singing battles or create music videos with up to three other people.

Either way, the game will incorporate footage captured via mobile app or console camera (think: Kinect). It's slated to ship on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this September. A month later, Ubisoft is expected to ship the latest entry in its established music/rhythm/perform-in-front-of-a-camera game franchise Just Dance.
