Twitter tags Zelda as the 'most talked about' game during E3

E3 week is drawing to a close, but even though it's not quite over yet Twitter has published a list of the ten most common game names mentioned on the social network during the event. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nintendo's Zelda: Breath of the Wild topped the chart.

While this is more of a fun data point than a particularly useful insight, it does give credence (at least, if you care about Twitter mentions) to Nintendo's marketing strategy for E3 this year, which seems to have been focused almost solely on Zelda.

After ditching its traditional live E3 press conference years ago, this year Nintendo even skipped broadcasting a pre-recorded Nintendo Direct video for E3 in favor of a pure livestream from its Treehouse team.

While games like Pokemon Sun and Moon were mentioned and streamed during the show, the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wind dominated both Nintendo's E3 livestream and its E3 booth space, which likely accounts for why the game was mentioned more than twice as often on Twitter as the next game on Twitter's most-Tweeted chart (seen below), Battlefield 1.
