Newsbrief: Steve Ballmer, formerly CEO of Microsoft, says that he has stepped down from his position as a member of the board to concentrate on new commitments. Ballmer revealed he would retire from his position as CEO last year, and earlier this year Satya Nadella took his place. Now Ballmer says that he needs to leave his role as a member of the Microsoft board. "I think it would be impractical for me to continue to serve on the board, and it is best for me to move off," he said in an open letter to Nadella.
