Newsbrief: The holidays are on the horizon, which can only mean one thing: console deals.

Yesterday, Nintendo pulled back the curtain on a new Wii U bundle, which includes Splatoon and Mario Kart 8, and now Sony has announced it will be lowering the price of the PS4 in the U.S. and Canada - following the example set by Microsoft earlier this year.

Starting on October 9, the standalone PS4 will get a $50 price drop, retailing for $349.99 in the states and $429.99 CAD in Canada.

Sony is also pushing a number of first and third-party console bundles, allowing consumers to to take home the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, The Nathan Drake Collection, Disney Infinity 3.0: Star Wars, NHL 16, and Star Wars Battlefront alongside its flagship console.
