Newsbrief: The Oculus Rift now supports four motion-tracking sensors following an update to the Oculus Home platform.

As TechCrunch reports, it's a move that paves the way for precise room-scale experiences; a feature the HTC Vive has offered since day one, though the Vive only supprts two tracking sensors.

The additional sensors will enhance movement tracking and improve accuracy as the company prepares to launch its Touch controllers later this year.

Oculus initially decided against launching Touch alongside the Rift, claiming it needed more time to make the controllers "more comfortable, reliable, and natural."

The company also said it would use the extra time to improve Touch's hand pose recognition.
