It’s 2016, and Skyrim is back. This week Bethesda officially got in on the next-gen re-release business and released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Special Edition for Xbox One and PS4, with a free update for the PC version of the game that includes a graphical upgrade for the game.
It’s been almost five years since Skyrim first took the world by storm, and to celebrate its re-release, we’re going to stream the special edition of Skyrim today at 3PM EST with former Bethesda Studios lead programmer Brett Douville, who worked on the game's original release.
If you’re curious about what it’s like to program a Bethesda game, or want to learn some of the best practices for programming open-world games with so many interlocking systems, you should tune in and share your questions with Douville and the Gamasutra team. We’ll be taking questions from the audience while slaying dragons and (probably) falling off cliffs, just like we did the last time we streamed an Elder Scrolls game.
