Game Developers Conference has just confirmed a vendor session from Sony Computer Entertainment America that you’ll want to keep an eye on. The session, titled “Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment,” is hosted by SCEA R&D’s director Richard Marks and senior software engineer Anton Mikhailov. They’ll be accompanied by Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE Worldwide Studios. Marks’ presence is noteworthy — he is best known for his work on innovative PlayStation devices including the PlayStation EyeToy and Move gesture-based systems. And the fact that Yoshida himself will be on-hand suggests something notable might be announced. The session description simply reads, “Join Sony Computer Entertainment for a presentation on innovation at PlayStation and the future of gaming.” There have been rumors of an upcoming PlayStation-centric virtual reality announcement from Sony, though the company is keeping its GDC plans under tight wraps. (And Gamasutra has not confirmed this is related to any such announcement.) “Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment” is a Sony-sponsored session that will take place on Tuesday, March 18 from 5:45-6:45 p.m. in room 130 in the Moscone Center’s North Hall. GDC 2014 will take place March 17-21, 2014 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. You can register for the event by visiting the info page on the official GDC 2014 website. For more information on GDC 2014, visit the show's official website, or subscribe to regular updates via Facebook, Twitter, or RSS. Gamasutra and GDC are sibling organizations under parent UBM Tech
