Newsbrief: For the last few years, analysts have predicted that tablets will eclipse PCs as the computing device of choice for general consumers. But numbers for the most recent quarter reveal that, in the U.S., PC sales are growing again. According to research firm Gartner, sales grew by 4.2 percent, year on year, for the comparable quarter; IDC pegs the rise at 4.3 percent, The Seattle Times reports. "Consumers’ attention is slowly going back to PC purchases as tablet adoption peaked with mainstream consumers. The transition from PCs to tablets has faded as tablet penetration has reached the 40-50 percent range," Gartner principal analyst Mikako Kitagawa said in a press release.
