Last September PopCap Games co-founder John Vechey left Electronic Arts to tackle other projects, including non-profit work.
Today one of those "other projects" is revealed to be Pluto VR, a Seattle-based startup co-founded by Vechey and three other men intent on developing software for virtual and augmented reality devices.
Game development doesn't seem to be a big priority, however -- Vechey told GamesBeat that "At first, we’re going to be focused on collaboration and learning" as Pluto VR works on figuring out how to do things like accurate facial tech for virtual conference calls.
In the future, VR emulation of board games may be in the cards for Pluto VR, whose co-founders previously worked at companies like Valve, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Know Your Meme.
