Oculus VR is moving to entice more developers into developing mobile VR games and experiences with its inaugural Mobile VR Jam, a roughly month-long competition that begins April 13th and promises $1 million in prizes for winning uses of the Oculus Mobile SDK.

This isn't the first time Oculus has posted cash rewards for a game jam using its technology (in 2013, before it was acquired by Facebook, Oculus teamed up with IndieCade to run a three-week VR jam with a $50,000 prize pool) but this is far and away the largest prize pool the company has offered to developers to date.

However, only a portion of that prize money is available to mobile VR game makers -- $700,000, to be exact. The rest will be awarded to participants of the jam's second track, which focuses on VR apps and experiences.

Developers interested in taking part can find a complete rundown of the upcoming contest over on Oculus' Mobile VR Jam website.
