Newsbrief: Earlier this year, Tokyo-based online game publisher Nexon made a strategic investment in Rumble Entertainment, a studio founded by a group of BioWare, Zynga, and EA veterans. Clearly, Nexon sees potential in the studio, as it has now participated in another round of funding. The company today announced a $17.5 million round of financing led by Nexon, TriplePoint Capital and Google Ventures, bringing its total funding to date to $35 million. Rumble plans to use the cash injection to finance its portfolio of free-to-play mobile and browser games, and further its expansion into additional territories. Rumble Entertainment was founded back in 2011 by former BioWare/Pandemic CEO Greg Richardson. It has since been working on titles like Kings Road, Nightmare Guardians and Ballistic.
