Newsbrief: Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord developer Taleworlds will make the game's code available to modders "so they'll be able to make whatever they want."
The Turkish studio built a new engine from the ground up specifically for the medieval sequel, and while certain aspects of the game will be locked away, the gameplay code will be freely accessible.
"We will make our gameplay code accessible to modders, so they can extend or rewrite to suit their purpose," said the studio in an interview with PCGamesN, clarifying that "our engine in-house and that will be closed, along with basic aspects of the game."
