Newsbrief: The BBC is about to dip into the world of eSports for the first time ever, with the British broadcasting giant set to offer live coverage of the League of Legends World Championships, which kick off at Wembley on October 15.

The BBC Three and BBC Sport teams will join forces to offer video, written, audio, and social coverage of the quarter finals using the same multipurpose platform used to cover festivals and other major sporting events.

According to BBC Three controller, Damian Kavanagh, the broadcaster "jumped at the chance" to cover the World Championships, which were watched by 70 million people globally last year.
