Newsbrief: With the overwhelming popularity of its MOBA League of Legends, Riot Games has always had to go to severe lengths to curb the negative areas of its community, including when it comes to toxic players. Now the studio has been forced to pull down the public chatrooms for the game, as the online chat area for the game has been overrun by Riot Point sellers, scammers and Elo-boost spam. Private chat rooms and messaging is still available, but Riot says that it is currently putting together a new persistent hangout style of chat interface, that it hopes will stop many of the issues that it has been facing. The full statement can be found on the League of Legends forums.
