Berlin-based online game publisher Aeria Games recently merged with fellow German game publisher Gamigo, and now a source close to the matter tells Gamasutra that a number of staffers have been laid off at Aeria following the deal.

While Aeria will continue to be a going concern in the game industry, an estimated 106 people are reportedly being let go at the company and a number of projects are being shut down.

Like Gamigo, the company operates a portfolio of free-to-play games across browsers and mobile devices. Late last year it opened a new office in San Francisco to solidify its presence in North America.

As always, if you or someone you know has been affected by these cuts, you can email Gamasutra to tell your story confidentially.
