Candy Crush Saga creator King has pulled down the shutters on its Singapore-based mobile studio, Nonstop Games.
Nonstop, a studio co-founded by former Wooga head of studio Henric Suuronen, was picked up by King for $6 million back in 2014. It then cost King another $10 million to retain the bulk of Nonstop's talent.
As noted by Tech in Asia, which picked up the story yesterday, King didn't give a concrete explanation as to why the Heroes of Honor developer has been closed down, simply stating the decision was made "after careful consideration."
"We have taken the difficult decision to close our Singapore studio. We have a fantastic team and world-class talent in the studio and will be working hard to ensure as many people as possible stay within King," read a company statement.
"For those leaving the company we are committed to ensuring the best possible transition and assistance."
