Japan's LINE games platform is putting $100 million into mobile games

Newsbrief: LINE Corp, the Japanese company behind the LINE Game Platform that recently announced it is filing for an initial public offering, has revealed a $100 million fund with which it will boost its mobile game offerings. At a press conference today, and as reported by Tech in Asia, LINE said that this money will be funneled into game studios bringing mobile games to its game platform, through an initiative called the LINE Game Global Gateway. And as part of the move, the company has acquired a 10 percent stake in Brave Frontier studio Gumi, which will now produce games for the LINE platform.
