Runescape creator Jagex is going to punish banned players by selling the contents of their fraudulent accounts through a new auction-style system called "Bank Bidders."
Announced at the annual RuneFest event over the weekend, and picked up by RockPaperShotgun, Bank Bidders will see those seized goods bundled together and sold in one way or another.
It's unclear exactly how the system will work, but Jagex says there'll be some level of risk involved, as players won't know exactly what it is they're bidding for.
"We're only going to tell you a little bit about these accounts. We're going to tell you maybe the age of the accounts, what they liked to do, maybe their skill levels," explained Runescape lead designer, Dave Osborne.
"Maybe there's a raffle system, maybe it's a bidding system, but ultimately one of you will win that account and whatever is in it."
Osborne explained Jagex could even create high-risk auctions for richer players. These sales would be live-streamed, and could see "high rollers" win big, or lose huge sums of money.
Bank Bidders will launch in November. More information will likely be dished out during the next Runescape dev Q&A.
