Microsoft has rebranded its Xbox Preview Program and opened up the initiative to all Xbox users.

As revealed by Microsoft's Major Nelson, the Xbox Preview Program will now go by the name of the Xbox Insider Program.

Before now, the Preview Program was an invite-only testing ground where members could try out new apps, games, and system updates and provide feedback.

Going forward, the Insider Program will take an opt-in approach, allowing all Xbox users to take previews for a spin and share their thoughts with Microsoft.

Following the rebrand, the Xbox Preview Dashboard will be updated with a fresh UI, personalized announcements and content opportunities, and an Xbox Insider profile card that highlights a user's contributions.

The changes will initially be rolled out to those preview members who've provided the most feedback, before being dished out en masse over the next few weeks.

As it stands, Xbox One system update previews will be limited to those already testing them due to an overwhelming number of volunteers.

"More fans will have the ability to provide feedback directly from their Xbox One consoles," wrote Major Nelson. "The Xbox Insider Hub will provide great opportunities to try out games, apps, and other console experiences."

"Whether you're an Xbox Insider who enjoys previewing the latest Xbox One system updates, or an Insider who loves checking out the beta of the latest installment in your favorite franchise, you'll now get to choose how to participate."
