After roughly seven months of beta testing, indie developer Dennaton Games today released the full-fledged level editor for its 2015 top-down shooter Hotline Miami 2.
While would-be Hotline Miami level designers have been able to muck around with the editor in beta for some time, the fact that it's now formally released to the modding community is notable in light of how many game developers get their start in the industry making mods for other games.
"Thank you so much for your patience and help over the extended development of the level editor," reads a post from the game's developer on the Hotline Miami 2 Steam page. "Without your passion, help, and feedback this would not have been possible. Now please go make Hotline Miami 3!"
Anyone eager to try their hand at doing so (or at least, making levels and/or cutscenes) can do so by launching the editor from within Hotline Miami 2, and then share their work with others via the Steam Workshop.
