Google is launching its YouTube Gaming venture this week alongside a dedicated mobile app as part of its previously-announced plan to challenge Twitch for the title of premier provider of games-focused video.

This is chiefly a heads-up for developers to keep an eye on YouTube Gaming hub when it launches tomorrow, in light of the fact that the rise of YouTubers and livestreamers has meaningfully affected the way developers make and sell games.

As YouTube Gaming rolls out, Google aims to begin promoting game videos and livestreams from both YouTube users (Google claims it will be streamlining the process of streaming to YouTube this week) and YouTube representatives, who will have a presence at PAX Prime in Seattle this weekend that includes a stage show livestreamed in conjunction with IGN, GameSpot and the Rooster Teeth production company.
