Google Play users will soon be able to share their purchases with up to six family members.
The introduction of a a new Family Library program will let account holders share eligible purchases across devices with no additional sign-up fee.
Selected content, including games, TV shows, movies, and books, will be available for sharing across compatible Android devices, while iOS users will also be able to share movies, TV shows, and books, but not games.
The main account holder will be able to choose which apps to share and which to lock off, but will have to nominate a credit card to serve as the family payment method -- although other members will be given the option to make purchases with their personal card.
In an effort to stop accidental purchases, usually made by younger family members, Google is giving main account holders the ability to approve individual purchases.
The Family Library is being rolled out today across Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the UK, and the U.S..
