Finnish mobile startup Kopla Games has been acquired by German publisher Flaregames for an undisclosed fee.
Kopla was founded last year by a group of former Angry Birds developers, and back in March raised $759,000 to create new mobile RPGs.
The studio's debut title, Nonstop Knight, was published by Flaregames in June, and surpassed 2 million installs in its first three days -- making it the biggest game launch in the publisher's history.
The deal will see Kopla remain operationally independent, with Flaregames saying it only wants to "help educate the developer when making decisions."
For its part, Kopla hopes to use Flaregames' resources to highlight player trends and boost user acquisition.
"After having worked together with Flaregames since the beginning of the year, this deal was a no-brainer for us," said Mika Kuusisto, Kopla Games CEO and co-founder.
"It enables us to be super focused on quickly searching and finding what the players are truly interested in, knowing that Flaregames has the know-how and muscle to scale it."
