Newsbrief: The Twitch community has raised over $75 million for around 100 different charities since the streaming platform first launched, and a good chunk of that cash has come from game-related fundraisers.

For example, the team behind speedrunning event Games Done Quick raised around $3 million in 2017 alone, supporting the efforts of important charities like the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders

This year's biggest new fundraiser, the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Charity Invitational, also harnessed the power of video games, and eventually raised over $220,000 for recreational therapy charity Gamers' Outreach.
