Two of the developers behind Qube 2 have come together to create Advect Productions, a hybrid studio focused both on developing its own narrative-driven games and providing support to other indie game makers.

Though the duo of Benni Hill and Dan Da Rocha only recently announced the new studio, Advect Productions officially opened its doors this past February. It currently has two games in production, both slated for release through Humble Bundle’s Humble Original program later this year.

Advect has a secondary purpose beyond its own development projects, however. As shown through the studio’s production management work with both Fourth State Games and Toxic Games, one of the purposes of the new team is to support other indie studios by offering production support and expertise.

"We feel there's a real need for good quality production within independent game studios,” said Da Rocha in a statement. “Production can quickly take a back seat to the hundreds of more pressing development tasks, however, if instilled correctly it's simple to maintain and increase productivity.”
