Former EA Partners execs looking to nurture indie talent

A group of game industry veterans, including former thatgamecompany and Electronic Arts executives, has put together a funding initiative for promising independent video game studios. Tilting Point Media is a new company aimed at finding the very best independent game talent, and providing them with funding, support and resources to help push them to mainstream success. The company plans to invest $40 million over the next three years to studios making mobile and tablet games, for development and marketing purposes. Tilting Point says that by nurturing talent, it can help guarantee long term success for the selected studios. A statement from Tilting Point did not note how many studios the company plans to spread that $40 million across over the next three years. Tilting Point's team includes Tom Frisina, previously general manager at EA Partners and chairman of thatgamecompany, and Dan Sherman, formerly director of business development for EA Partners.
