Newsbrief: EA's former SVP of strategy and marketing for mobile, Matt Bromberg, has been appointed COO of FarmVille creator Zynga.

Bromberg will oversee the social game outfit's business, strategy, technology, IT, data science, visual design and global payer experience teams. He'll also be responsible for the company's India-based game studio.

"I'm excited to work with Frank and the team at Zynga to reimagine how it brings games to market and engages players across the globe," he commented.

Before joining EA, Bromberg founded location-based games platform I'mOK, and prior to that served as the CEO and president of eSports outfit, Major League Gaming.
