Newsbrief: A group of Finnish game industry professionals that includes animators from Rovio and Supercell have been working together in their spare time to produce an animated action movie, and this week VentureBeat reports they took to the stage at the Slush startup conference in Helsinki to unveil the project. Inspired by Finnish folklore, the film "IronDanger" is the brainchild of Sami Timonen, a Supercell game artist who seemingly wanted an excuse to work on something with friends in the Finnish game and entertainment industries. "We have 150 to 200 people working on this, from Rovio and Supercell," said Rovio exec Peter Vesterbacka, who noted that the animators involved were voluntarily donating their time. "If we can make the best games, why can't we make the best films?" IronDanger is being produced by Finnish film producer Ariyuki Suzuki and is expected to debut in 2017 to celebrate Finland's centennial of independence.
