Early Access game Maia makes $1 million

Newsbrief: Back in 2012, UK developer Simon Roth raised arond $237,000 through Kickstarter for his game Maia. Now the dev has made more than $1 million from the in-development game, and is opening a new studio. Talking to Develop, Roth explained that the money has come from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Steam Early Access and alpha sales on his own website. The game launched as an alpha at the end of 2013. And Roth has decided to set up Machine Studios in Oxford, simply so that he has a company name to give to people.
