The folks at Valve sent a note to press today explaining that the company's burgeoning Steam VR Arcade licensing initiative is expanding to include games like Tilt Brush, Audioshield and Job Simulator.
It's a good reminder for devs that Valve quietly expanded its extant cybercafe licensing program to include the Steam VR Arcade offshoot, a program where VR arcade operators can set up VR stations to run select VR games through Steam for commercial purposes.
Devs should know that while businesses operating with a site license from Valve can allow customers to log into machines with their own Steam accounts to play games, this is typically not practical -- especially in VR arcades, where customers presumably don't have easy access to a keyboard and terminal.
Thus, site licensees can either load their machines up with games from a free list (which includes VR games like Valve's The Lab) that won't require players to log in to play, or they can shell out for a paid subscription that allows them to load their machines with premium games like the aforementioned Job Simulator, Tilt Brush, and more.
