Newsbrief: Deadly Premonition director Hidetaka Suehiro, better known as Swery, has left Japanese game studio Access Games.

The D4, Spy Fiction, and The Last Blade helmsman had been on a hiatus after being diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia last year.

Although Swery ultimately opted to leave the studio he helped found back in 2002, he reassured fans that he's on the mend.

"Unfortunately I retired from Access Games after all. However, don't worry, because my health condition is getting be fine. Love you!" he wrote on Twitter

There's no word on what Swery plans to do now he's left Access Games, or what his departure means for the future of his episodic graphic adventure game, D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die.
