Crossy Road developer Hipster Whale is making the jump into publishing, describing the move as the "next natural step."

The Australian studio has continued to build on its hugely popular mobile app with a number of branded tie-ins, such as Disney Crossy Road, and will now look to help other devs expand their reach.

"We're often approached by other developers asking for help with their titles, and we haven't had the bandwidth to act." said studio director, Andy Sum, speaking to GamesIndustry.biz

"Now, with our publishing initiative, we have a platform for showcasing some truly great games."

Clara Reeves, who from 2006 to 2010 served as a producer at Krome Studios, will head up the developer's publishing operations as its new president.

Before joining Krome, Reeves worked as Atari's QA manager, and more recently as Film Victoria's games, digital content, and animation manager.
