British not-for-profit Creative England has joined forces with UK bank Barclays to launch a new 12 week accelerator with the aim of boosting growth in the country's creative tech sector.

The "Barclays' Eagle Lab -- Flight" initiative will support creative technology entrepreneurs and young businesses through workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship programmes.

Eight investments of £25,000 ($31,660) will be handed out to creative tech and digital companies looking to bring a unique product to market. Three months of business support will be included alongside the cash.

With the UK's economic future facing uncertainty in the wake of Brexit, Creative England CEO Caroline Norbury says it's time to strengthen and scale-up the country's tech scene.

Applications for the Flight initiative are now open, and must be submitted by December 31, 2016.
