Nintendo has revealed that both Control and Hitman 3 are launching on the Switch via the power of cloud streaming.

As announced during an impromptu Nintendo Direct Mini, the cloud version of Control is available right now, while Hitman 3 will arrive at a later date.

It's a notable move that suggests companies like IO Interactive and Remedy are keen to tap into the Switch's playerbase and bring their heavy-duty titles to the platform.

In terms of how actually accessing these cloud versions will work, the Nintendo Store page for Control explains players must download a free launcher application to test the game for a limited amount of time. This will allow them to check their internet connection is stable enough to run the game.

A Nintendo Account is also required to access the cloud service, and a permanent internet connection must be maintained for the duration of any play session.

This isn't the first time Nintendo has harnessed cloud streaming to bring titles to its handheld-home console hybrid, with both Resident Evil 7 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey having also shuffled onto the Switch using the technology.
