Newsbrief: China's premier soccer league, The Chinese Super League, (CSL) has struck up a six-year partnership with Beijing developer Crazy Sports to create games based on the 16 CSL teams.
As reported by Reuters, the deal will give the studio non-exclusive rights to the CSL, which in themselves are worth around 100 million yuan ($15.02 million).
It's the CSL's first foray into the games industry, and league chairman Ma Changquan hopes each title will boost revenue and help raise the tournament's global profile.
"The Chinese Super League is dedicated to expanding the influence and commercial value of the league," he commented. "The development of CSL-themed games is a new revenue growth point for the league."
