Last week, Poland's National Centre for Research and Development (NCRD) pledged to donate 116 million PLN ($27.3 million) to the county's video game industry, with a lump sum (around $7 million) going to The Witcher 3 developer, CD Projekt Red.
An official document from the NCRD, translated by wccftech, has revealed CD Projekt submitted proposals for four tech-related projects, all of which have been approved.
Curiously, one of those projects makes mention of "seamless multiplayer" tech, which promises to enable the creation of "unique gameplay for many players, taking into account the search of opponents, session management, [and] replication facilities."
The document also states CD Projekt is working on cross-platform multiplayer software for "popular consoles and operating systems," which suggests we'll be seeing the studio's first multiplayer title sooner rather than later.
The other translated proposals reveal the studio is also keen to refine its city creation, cinematic feel, and animation technology. While The Witcher 3 impressed in all of those departments, the Polish outfit clearly feels the need to push on an innovate further.
