Newsbrief: A Call of Duty game is about to ship without a main campaign for the first time ever, with Activision revealing that Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Black Ops 3 will feature "multiplayer and zombies gameplay only."
The current-generation versions of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - retain a single-player (and up to four player co-op) campaign mode.
Speaking via the Call of Duty community blog, the publisher explained that the "ambitious scope" of the Black Ops 3 campaign proved too much for old generation hardware, which meant the mode had to be pulled.
It was also noted that features such as the "weapon paint shop" and the new suite of eSports tools will also only be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
