Blizzard cleaned up at this year's Game Awards, coming away with the Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best eSports Game, and Best Multiplayer awards for its work on Overwatch

Overwatch managed to fend off stiff competition to take home the top prize, with the likes of Uncharted 4 (Naughty Dog), Doom (Id Software), Inside (Playdead), and Titanfall 2 (Respawn) all receiving GOTY nods.

Still, any disappointment would've been short lived, with Uncharted 4 taking home the statues for Best Performance -- kudos, Nolan North -- and Best Narrative. Doom also grabbed a double, coming out on top in the Best Action Game and Best Music/Sound Design departments.

Playdead's dystopian nightmare Inside was also honored with the awards for Best Art Direction and Best Independent Game.

Other notable victors include Niantic's augmented reality effort, Pokemon Go, which was crowned the Best Mobile/Handheld title, and the newly appointed Best VR Game, Rez Infinite
