Today the British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominees for its 2015 video game awards, and Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation narrowly beat out competition to claim the greatest number of nominations.

The awards are notable because they aim to honor the most well-realized and innovative games developed across all realms of the industry, from small-scale mobile games to traditional big-budget projects.

Alien: Isolation is up for a total of 6 awards, including awards for Best Game of 2015, Audio Achievement and Game Innovation.

It's followed closely by both Monument Valley and Fary Cry 4, which each netted 5 nominations across award categories like Artistic Achievement, Audio, Best Game and Best British Game.
