Failbetter co-founder Alexis Kennedy has been invited to work with Bioware as the Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer's first ever guest writer.

Kennedy served as Failbetter's creative director for seven years, eventually leaving the Sunless Sea creator back in May to go freelance and "learn as much as I can from as many different kinds of project as I can."

Now, Kennedy has been commissioned by Bioware to write "a significant piece of content" for an unnamed title.

"[Bioware] has been a huge influence on my own work, so this has me literally rubbing my hands in delight every time I stop typing," wrote Kennedy on his blog

"I also get to work directly with Mike Laidlaw and Patrick Weekes -- both exceptional amalgams of talent, charm, and stylish beard-hair, whose work I've admired since Jade Empire and the first Mass Effect."

Since leaving Failbetter, Kennedy has written content for Paradox's 4X grand strategy title, Stellaris, and has been working on experimental narrative-crafting game, Cultist Simulator.
