Valve has announced that over 20 million unique viewers streamed The 2014 International Dota 2 Championships, which were held at Seattle's KeyArena. At peak, concurrent viewers were over 2 million. It was the fourth such event held by Valve. That stacks up pretty well with reigning eSports champion and genre competitor League of Legends -- its most recent championships, which took place last October at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, attracted over 32 million viewers. To put this in perspective, the latest Super Bowl -- the most-viewed TV event in U.S. history -- had 115.5 million viewers, though only a hair over 500,000 streamed the event online. As Gamasutra previously reported, at nearly $11 million, the prize pool for the event eclipsed major golf event the U.S. Open.
